Soup Swap {2013}

It’s that time of year again. It’s time to swap soups. I know, I know. If you live anywhere like where I do, then you’ve had frigid, ice cold days and then all of a sudden, the weather gets warm enough to spend a sunny day at the park.

Regardless of the type of day, I can always do soup. You see, I love soup. I enjoy eating it any time during the year (even during the summer). I’m easy like that.

Last year, I held the annual soup swap and from that added some really delicious recipes to my book from the ones that were shared. Contributions included the following:

Milk & Honey Mommy
White Bean Soup
Mushroom Barley Soup
Pea, Leek and Broccoli Soup
Carrot Tomato Soup

Missouri Mama at Ozark Ramblings
Cheddar Broccoli
Picanta Onion Soup
Vegetable Soup
Jen at Reflections in the Window
Stuffed Pepper
Beef Enchilada Soup
Alphabet Soup

Tajuana at Think Outside the Box
Crockpot Lentil Soup
Baked Potato Soup
Crockpot Split Pea Soup
Wisconsin Cheese Soup

Well, it’s time to add a few more yummy recipes to my book, so that means it’s time for Soup Swap {2013}. Participation is totally easy. During the month of February, every Wednesday (2/6, 2/13, 2/20 and 2/27), I will be sharing one of our favorite family soups. I’m a vegetarian cooker, so all of mine will be vegetarian, but they will be delicious. If you have a recipe you would like to share (vegetarian, meat-based, gluten-free, etc.), then you will also be able to link up here and strut your “soup stuff.”

Since I know that I have readers who are not vegetarian, I’m sure they will enjoy a variety of soup recipes and I too have been known to “vegetarianize” (not a word, but it could be) a meat soup recipe a few times that has turned out yummy to me.

You may use a new post or a previously written one. The only thing I request is that you have a picture of the completed recipe because a picture is always a great motivator to get someone to cook. That is what I want, for people to not be afraid of clanking a few pots together and to get cooking.

Here is a really simple and quick vegetable broth that you can make, which can be stored in a refrigerator or frozen until you are ready to use. Also, take a look at the soup recipes I’ve already shared at Milk & Honey Mommy.

Do you want to join me? Leave a comment on this post and remember to return on Wednesday, February 6 to link-up so we may share some of our favorite family soup recipes. Yummy cooking!
