Eleven Years and Counting

Today I celebrated 11 years of marriage with Darling D. Being a wife has been exciting, challenging, a bed of roses, a stem of thorns, a chocolate cupcake with white icing, a cherry pie (something I don’t like), and the hardest job I’ve ever had next to being…

a mommy. Being a mommy has been exhilarating, tiring, a breeze, a tornado, a bowl of strawberries, a banana split (something else I don’t like), and the next hardest job I’ve ever had. I thank God for all of the experiences; the good and the unexpected challenges. I am so thankful and blessed to be both a wife and a mother. They are two of the best jobs I’ve ever had.

Be encouraged and an active participant (show up) in your marriage and always lean on God. Without Him, there is always doubt. With Him, there is always the excitement of what He is going to do next. Believe me, He never fails to surprise.

I read this post the other day by Jami. She is a quirky one and a total riot, but she was spot-on about repentance and forgiveness. None of us is perfect. We are all flawed and I believe that marriage and parenting bring out our flaws more than anything else we experience in life. Who else are we going to show our true colors to if not our family? Who else are we going to need to depend on to receive us and also forgive us for our flaws?

Here is to 11 years of joy, tears, rewards, pain, anticipation, disappointment, flaws, and the confidence that we both STILL DO!

Here are some marriage blogs I enjoy reading that you may also enjoy:
