A Decision Made

Lily has been talking about it for a while and asking me quite a few questions, but I knew she wasn’t ready. She was more curious than anything and although her heart was there for learning, the understanding I thought she should have regarding the commitment she wanted to make wasn’t there yet.

Well, last month something happened. Lily accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her heart was stronger and she “gave the right answers.” When I say gave the right answers, I mean that she truly understood His sacrifice for her. We sat down on her bed, prayed together, and my heart just beamed.

Yesterday, Lily was baptized at our church. She has been wired all week full of the excitement of the moment and of course drama with concern of her drowning when Pastor John (shown here) was to “dunk” her in the water. She may be saved, but she is still silly.

Lily had a moment by herself to sit quietly while she waited. It was at this moment that I started feeling a bit overwhelmed myself. I decided right then that Lily won’t be getting married at all, ever because I don’t think I can handle it. My little girl is growing up so quickly.

That signature smile of hers always makes me smile, but she’s still not getting married no matter how much she smiles at me.

On her way in…

and on her way out.

She still looks the same on the outside (as cute as ever), but her heart and mind are changing on the inside.

That is part of Tinky girls issue about getting baptized she wants to and her heart condition is in the right place, but the fear of putting face under water scares the heck out of her. We are working on it.

What a very special day for Lily and the rest of your family.

BTW I’m soooo with you on the not getting married thing. :P
