Required reading list {Lily}

Reading list are a funny thing, especially when I make them for my children. I have one plan and they have another. A couple of years ago, I gave Lily a book to read and she just did not like it. No mommy prodding was able to convince her to read the book. So, that was X’ed off of her list. She instead chose another book I had never considered and totally ate the book up. Of course, I can’t remember either title.

One of the books on her list is one River read a few years ago. Misty of Chincoteague. I couldn’t wait for her to come of age to read the book, because she loves horses and I just knew she would love the book. Do you know I had to beg her to read the book and she didn’t concede until she learned a good friend of hers was reading the book. Now, that one, I will never understand. I had to beg a horse lover to read a book about a horse.

This is what Lily will be reading this year. There may be two edits a little later, because I think she already read through one of the books I assigned. There is something about The Whipping Boy that cause my children to grab the book and take off reading.
