Before or After?

Friday nights are movie nights in our house. River finally finished reading Charlotte’s Web, so we sat down as a family and watched it (2006 release) last night. The kids enjoyed it, but I think we all were happy that we read the book first. Lily made sure (throughout the entire movie) to let us know when something was and wasn’t in the book.

If a book has already been made into a movie before you read it, do you read the book first or watch the movie first? Have you ever been disappointed either way?

I try to read the book first. I generally find that if I read the book first, the movie disappoints! But I’ve had the opposite happen so…

We always try to read the book first. I love Charlotte’s Web. I like the cartoon version better myself.
