A Day to Remember

When I took these pictures in February, the count was 4880 which signified soldiers lost since the beginning of the Iraq War. Sadly, the number has grown over the past few months. Today is Memorial Day when we commemorate the sacrifices of the soldiers now serving, the veterans who served, as well as those military persons who died while serving our country.

Whether or not you agree with the war, if asked, many of these soldiers will tell you that they believed it was their duty and that they fought to preserve the privileges and freedoms we enjoy everyday as Americans. You didn’t ask them to, but they are doing it for you.

Take the time to thank these servants as well as their families whose sacrifices continue everyday. I pray for healing for the families that have lost husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, and children and thank them all for their service.
